Google’s AI assistant now allows you to transform ideas or documents into complete presentations in minutes.
Google is introducing a new feature in Gemini’s Canvas. This free, interactive workspace in the AI chatbot’s app is designed to help students and professionals create presentations more easily. Gemini can now create slides from a simple prompt, but users can also upload files such as documents, spreadsheets, or research papers if they want the presentation to be based on a specific source. If users don’t need a specific source, they can simply type a prompt like, “Create a presentation on [a specific topic],” for example. If the content of the source matters, users can first upload the file and then have Gemini generate slides from it. Gemini’s presentations are pre-designed with themes and relevant images. Users can export the presentations directly from the Gemini app to Google Slides. They can still edit and improve the slides as needed or collaborate on them with a teammate. Google is now releasing the tool for both individual and Workspace accounts. Google launched Canvas in March as a space where users can share their writing or code with Gemini for editing. If users enter code or prompts for projects such as apps, web pages, or infographics, Canvas can display a visual version of their design.
